We’re playing more Gears Tactics to further explore the game’s mechanics, potential and story. My first impressions were surprisingly good, but I’m not sure if my experience is already starting to plateau. We have yet to see a big boss fight, and we have only scratched the surface of the skill trees, so I’m hopeful that the best is yet to come.

While taking a couple days off from streaming, I decided to give XCOM Chimera SquadXCOM Chimera Squad a try. Even though it’s clear Chimera Squad and Gears Tactics were not made with the same intended scope, Gears Tactics is far superior. Despite the history and experience behind the XCOM franchise, I was left craving more Gears Tactics. So, here we are.

I’ve been craving a new tactics game, and I’m hoping that Gears Tactics can deliver. While I still have yet to finish XCOM 2, or try the recently released XCOM Chimera Squad, Gears Tactics is something new and good for competition and innovation in the tactics genre. I’m also interested to see what kind of impression Gears Tactics gives me having never played a Gears of War game.
